Fish Oil Supplements Are Better Than The Real Thing

Date: 07/09/2007

Laboratory tests have found fish oil from a leading British supplement manufacturer to be the cleanest it has ever tested and far cleaner than fish oil in its natural form which is often contaminated from sea pollution.

The government advises that people should eat at least one portion of oily fish per week and schools must provide pupils with oily fish once every three weeks. However, there are ongoing concerns about the high levels of pollution in our oceans which contaminate the fish that eventually end up on our plates.

Conversely, due to legislative and industry limits, fish oil supplements undergo rigorous purification techniques to remove harmful toxins such as mercury, polychlorobiphenyls (PCBs), and dioxins, making them much purer than fish oil obtained from fish in its ordinary form.

The VeryWise range of fish oil supplements, manufactured here in Britain, was recently reported as being the cleanest ever to be tested at Canadian-based Nutrasource, a world leader in natural health product analysis.

A spokesperson from Nutrasource said:

“We can say with conviction that from a PCB perspective, The oils used in VeryWise are the cleanest PCB testing of any Marine Oils we have ever seen.”

Dr Nigel Plummer of VeryWise Nutrition explained:

“All of our fish oil supplements are formulated using fish oil from sardines and anchovies because they contain fewer harmful chemicals than fish higher up the food chain such as tuna which are at greater risk of accumulating high levels of pollutants. They then undergo rigorous purification techniques to make them as pure and effective as possible.”

As the quality and effectiveness of fish oil supplements reach new heights, their potential benefits are now being considered from fresh perspectives. One Local Education Authority in London has already been in discussion with VeryWise Nutrition about providing an omega 3 supplement to overcome the difficulty they are facing enforcing the new school dinner guidelines, introduced in September 2006, to provide children with oily fish such as mackerel, herring and pilchards once every three weeks.

The resulting supplement could provide children with not only a more convenient way to obtain their omega 3, but also a much cleaner and purer form of fish oil than if they were to eat the fish currently provided.

Omega 3 supplements manufactured by VeryWise Nutrition are the only ones to use groundbreaking WisdOM 3 technology which breaks up the molecules, so that twice as much can be absorbed from every spoonful. Their range includes BrainWise, formulated to help aid concentration in children, JointWise to promote healthy joints and CardioWise to help maintain a healthy heart and circulation.
